Derby County has signed ex-Sydney player Ruben Zadkovich on a 2-year deal after becoming a free agent. Manager Paul Jewell was impressed with the 21-year-old after a trial spell at the club.

The Mariners have been forced to deny reports that Sunderland player, Dwight Yorke will be heading to the Central Coast. Yorke was talking up the possibility of the transfer but chairman Lyall Gorman was quoted by saying, ” It’s not going to happen”.

Socceroos keeper Mark Schwarzer is almost certain to be leaving Middlesbrough at the end of the season as the English club refuse to offer him anything more than a 1-year-contract. Schwarzer has been with the club for 12 years and wants a deal that will take him through to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

It has been reported in the English press that Aussie captain Lucas Neill could be on his way out of West Ham as the owners want to slash their wage bill. This report has been laughed-off by Neill and his managment.

Adelaide Utd’s Olryoo striker Bruce Djite has said that he doesn’t expect to line up for the Red’s in season 2008-09. There are reports that many European clubs are tracking him and that at least one Dutch club is on the verge of offering him a contract.

And finally the Harry Kewell transfer rumour/saga continues.

The latest one is that he will be following his manager Rafa Benitez out of the club at the end of the season. Where to ? Nobody knows.

This just adds to the long list of possible clubs that Harry Kewell is expected to sign with during the European off-season. These include Sunderland, Tottenham, Celtic, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus……the list goes on.

Your guess is as good as mine.
