Adelaide Utd no match for Gamba Boys

ADELAIDE Utd have been defeated 3-0 by Gamba Osaka in Japan in the first leg of the ACL Final. The reds now have to score at least 3 goals and not concede any to take the game to extra time in the return leg to be played at Hindmarsh.

Gamba made it 1-0 in just the 37th minute and by half-time Adelaide were down by two goals.

Adelaide made more of a fist of it in the second half but missed a couple of good chances in particular a Cornthwaite miss from 3 metres out.
Endo made it 3-0 in the 67th minute with a delicious volley from the edge of the box.

To make things even more difficult, the reds will be without Angelo Costanzo and Eugene Galekovic as they both recieved a yellow card and will be suspended for the 2nd leg.
