Adelaide United holds a 3-goal advantage going into its AFC Champions League Semi Final 2nd leg encounter against Bunyodkor/Kuruvchi in Tashkent tonight.

United Coach Aurelio Vidmar says the heavy travel schedule will not affect his side.

“Australians are quite used to travelling. In the 2007 AFC Champions League we went through the same sort of travelling so for us it is pretty normal,” Vidmar said

“We’re coming into this game quite confident because we had a good win against Queensland last Friday, but we know that the game this afternoon (Tashkent time) will be extremely difficult.”

Reds first choice goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic has been struggling with a groin injury but should take his place in the starting line-up.

Adelaide striker Paul Agostino injured a calf muscle at training on Monday and will be forced to watch from the sidelines.

“We think he has torn a calf muscle and early suggestions are that it could be anywhere between a four to six week injury,” said Vidmar.

“It hasn’t affected our preparations, however ‘Ago’ is a player who would have had an impact in some capacity in a game like this and unfortunately now we don’t have that. It just gives someone else an opportunity.”

Kuruvchi welcome Jose Luis Villanueva back to the fold after the Chilean striker limped off before half time during the first leg match between these sides at Hindmarsh Stadium two weeks ago.

Villanueva scored a hat-trick when Kuruvchi smashed Iranian side Saipa 5-1 in Tashkent at the quarter final stage and his coach Zico believes he can repeat that performance.

“He can play the whole game,” said Zico.

“He is in good form and if he plays from the start he will play for the full 90 minutes.”
