Anzac invasion set to continue at Galatasaray

Lucas Neill

NOW it looks like Lucas Neill will be joining Socceroos team-mate Harry Kewell at Turkish champions Galatasaray for the start of  next season.

The West Ham Captain, who currently has two seasons left on his £60,000-a-week contract is now reported to be on the verge of a shock move to Turkey.

West Ham have been forced to cut their wage bill and it is said that the West Ham board would be happy to see the back of Lucas Neill as he is one of their highest earners.

It is all starting to make sense now as West Ham manager, Alan Curbishley has been scouting for a new central back and is thought to be lining up Swiss defender Valon Behrami who is currently at Lazio.

A deal to bring the 23 year old to Upton Park looks likely to be finalised by the end of this week and that could spell the end of Neill’s stay at West Ham and probably the EPL.

Kewell’s move to Galatasaray is no surprise, given that his cousin, Emre Kewell, lives in Istanbul.
