Celtic want Kewell to join Scottish champs

Harry Kewell is being tipped to join his fellow Australian Scott McDonald at Scottish champions Celtic. Liverpool and coach Rafa Benitez has indicated that Kewell will not be getting a contract extension come this summer.
English papers are saying that the 29-year-old will be heading to Glasgow as the Hoops boss Gordon Strachan has been closely following Kewell’s situation. It is also said that early talks have already taken place between Celtic and Kewell’s management.
Kewell has suffered mutliple injuries during his five-year deal with Liverpool and has only made 93 appearances in that time.
Aussie coach Pim Verbeek says that he expects Harry Kewell to join up with the Socceroos in time for this weekend’s friendly international against Singapore and will be a certainty for the 2010 World Cup qualifier against China four days later.
Kewell first made his international appearance in 1996 and has only won 30 caps in the 12-years since.
