Glory players committed to the cause
Perth Glory players have pledged their commitment to the club at a crisis meeting on Friday.
Coach David Mitchell had given his squad an ultimatum following Perth’s 4-0 loss to Melbourne to either leave the club or stay and fight for the shirt.
Glory co-owner Tony Sage emerged from the meeting on Friday morning confident the players are focused on turning the club’s season around.
“We asked for their 100% commitment and that is what we received,” Mr Sage said.
“I have been given an undertaking from each player that anyone who pulls on the Glory shirt will give their all for the club. As an owner, and also as a passionate supporter of the club, I can’t ask for anything more.”
A leadership group will be formed to assist Captain Jamie Coyne, with experienced striker Eugene Dadi and long time Glory star Jamie Harnwell to join Coyne as part of a leadership panel.
