Gold Coast Land Big Fish Culina

JASON CULINA has penned a three-year deal to become the A-League’s highest profile signing to date. He will become the marquee player for Gold Coast United for season 2009/10.Culina received multiple offers from big Euro-Clubs including PSV and Dinamo Zagreb but has decided to make the move back home with his wife and family at just 28-years of age.

It is believed that he will recieve around $3.6 million over the 3 years which is alot less than what he was offered in europe but will make him the highest paid footballer in the country of all codes.

Jason’s dad, Branko Culina is said to have played a big part in the return of the Socceroo regular by telling him that he should return to the country while he still has alot to offer.

FFA bosses are also hoping that this could be the start of things to come with talk of Scott Chipperfield, Mile Sterjovski and Mark Viduka spending their final playing days in the local competition.
