Joeys fall to Brazil in second friendly

The Australian Under 17 team was defeated 4-1 by Brazil in the final of their two matches in the Nike International Friendlies tournament in Lancaster County, Los Angeles.

The Joeys had drawn a match earlier in the tournament against USA, however the results were overshadowed by the sudden death of coach Martyn Crook.

Crook suffered a heart attack before the first of what was to be a three match tournament. As a mark of respect Australia’s opening match was cancelled.

The Joeys depart Los Angeles today landing in Sydney on Wednesday.

Qantas Joeys squad: Kerim Bulut (NSW), Chris Bush (ACT), Joseph Costa (SA), Julius Davies (WA), Stephen Domenici (ACT), Petar Franjic (VIC), Brendan Hamill (NSW), Kamal Ibrahim (VIC), Jared Lum (NSW), Joel Miller (SA), Chahine Noujaim (SA), Alex Pearson (WA), Trent Sainsbury (WA), Nikola Stanojevic (NSW), David Talevski (NSW), Lawrence Thomas (NSW), Marc Warren (NSW) and Bailey Wright (VIC).
