Mariners get their man Elrich
The Central Coast Mariners have signed Ahmad Elrich on a two year deal after being released by the Wellington Phoenix. The one-time Socceroo will hope that this move will put him back onto Pim Verbeek’s radar for the 2010 World Cup.”Our signing of Ahmad is another clear showing of our intent for season four,” said Mariners executive chairman Lyall Gorman.
Elrich has been capped by his country 17 times and has scored five international goals. The 26 year old has had spells with Busan of South Korea, Fulham and Norways FC Lyn Oslo. He started his professional career with Parramatta Power in the now defunct NSL.
Elrich is the Mariner’s second signing for the 2008/09 Hyundai A-League Season joining Adrian Caceres from the Victory.
