Olyroos drawn in tough group for mens Olympic football

THE AUSTRALIAN mens Olympic football team the Olyroos have been drawn to face Serbia, Argentina and the Ivory Coast at the Beijing Olympics.
Graham Arnold’s men will meet Serbia first up but this game is strangely scheduled for one day before the opening ceremony on August 7.

The Olyroos’ other games in Group A will included 2004 Gold Medalists, Argentina on 10 August and then the Ivory Coast on 13 August.

Australia will hope to dish out some pay-back to the Argentinians who defeated them 1-0 at the Athens Olympics before they went on to win the tournament.

New Zealand on the other hand don’t have things any easier in Group C. They are scheduled to face hosts China, Brazil and Belgium.
