One more time: Mariners appeal Vukovic ban
The Central Coast Mariners have decided to have another go appealing Danny Vukovic’s nine month ban.
They haven’t ruled out taking the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Vukovic received a red-card in the grand final after striking referee Mark Shields when he turned down a clear penalty with only minutes left in the match.
The original appeal succeeded in reducing the suspended part of the sentence but the actual time spent on the sidelines remained the same.
Despite this, the Mariners have decided to appeal again in the hope of having Vukovic available for the start of version 4 of the Hyundai A-League. Whatever the outcome of this appeal, it is almost certain that Vukovic will miss the chance to represent Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics
