Socceroos to play warm up match against Singapore

There will be a 5 day camp in Singapore ahead of the Socceroos next World Cup qualifier against China in Kunming. The boys will also be booked on the play a friendly against Singapore during this time.
Pim Verbeek will give the local A-League players another chance to force their way into the the squad for the match against China by choosing a mainly Aussie based contingent for the match against Singapore on Saturday 22 March, just 4 days before the crucial 2010 World Cup Qualifier.
“This match will give valuable experience to Hyundai A-League players and will be another important part of our program to keep them fit during the off season,” said Pim Verbeek.
Verbeek also confirmed that he was present at China’s recent national team friendly matches against Japan and South Korea where he took away a lot of valuable information to use in the World Cup Qualifier.
“China played against strong opposition and it was valuable for me to able to see them play.”
China have kept their squad together in camp after the friendly matches against Japan and South Korea and have already moved to Kunming to finalise preparations for their match against the Socceroos.
The A-League players that have received a call up for the match against Singapore but are involved with the upcoming Asian Champions League will join the camp once their matches are completed on Wednesday 19 March.
Pim Verbeek will announce the squad next week and that will be posted here on Real Football as soon as it happens.
