Verbeek names supersized Socceroos squad for Qatar qualifier

Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek has named 35 players in a provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup qualification match against Qatar in Brisbane on October 15.

Verbeek will monitor the fitness and performance of the players in their respective domestic league matches over the weekend and may reduce his squad size early next week prior to the team’s assembly in Brisbane next Wednesday.

The Socceroos take on Qatar in a 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier round 4 match in Brisbane on Wednesday, October 15 (Kick-off 7.30pm AEST).
